Sharla Kibel has been endorsed in California as an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist, Reflective Practice Facilitator, and Reflective Mentor. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
She offers developmentally sensitive and relationally focused consultation, assessment and treatment for families with young children in both private and public mental health settings.
Sharla also provides reflective supervision and consultation to therapists at many stages of professional growth and development. She is adjunct faculty at Santa Clara University supporting trainee therapists in their practicum year.
She has presented trainings on the topics of cultural competence and on the professional challenges of spiritual depletion and replenishment. She has published articles on moral dilemmas for a therapist in the Child Welfare system and on sources of balance and nurturance for a parenting child therapist. She is a member of Zero to Thee expert faculty for training organizations in the DC:0-5, the Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood.
She has provided coordination, training and reflective practice for the Santa Clara County Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health training academy. She is a Transformational Care Planning trainer, a Circle of Security Parent Educator and an intermediate DIR/ Floortime provider. She is also credentialed in Triple P parent curricula.
She has also participated in poster and field presentations at national and international conferences including Zero to Three, World Association of Infant Mental Health, Association for Women in Psychology.
